Maths Genius 2026 is a national-level online mathematics competition organised by I am Samarth for students studying in Grades 6th to 10th across Bharat.
The Competition is designed to assess and enhance students’ numerical skills, speed, logical thinking, consistency, and learning ability through structured mathematical challenges.
The Competition is conducted entirely online and consists of two leagues:
- League: Minimum Numerical Skill (MNS) for Grades 6th to 10th
- League: Minimum Learning Ability (MLA-1 and MLA-2) for Grades 9th and 10th
Each league includes:
- Entry Round
- Qualifier Round
- Final Round
Participants must complete each Round in order by achieving at least 90% accuracy in the required number of consecutive attempts. The competition is considered complete only after the final round of that league’s accuracy requirement is met.
Students who are currently studying in Grades 6th to 10th are eligible to participate.
Participants may register:
- Individual Student: Individual registration is permitted only if the student’s school is not participating in the Competition, or when the student chooses to participate independently.
- Institute Student: Registration through the School / Institute, where the school is participating in the Competition.
The registration fee is ₹99 per student. The exemption is given to students holding an active annual I am Samarth membership until 5 September 2026.
No. The registration fee is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under all circumstances, including withdrawal or non-participation.
The key dates are as follows:
- Registration Opens: 1 April 2026 at 09:00 AM (IST)
- School Registration Closes: 15 June 2026 at 11:59 PM (IST)
- Individual Registration Closes: 11 September 2026 at 11:59 PM (IST)
- Competition Period: 18 June 2026 to 5 September 2026
- Result Declaration: 14 September 2026 (Tentative)
Maths Genius 2026 is conducted based on 52 fundamental concepts of Mathematics. These include:
- League: Minimum Numerical Skill:
- Addition of Natural Numbers
- Multiplication of Natural Numbers
- League: Minimum Learning Ability
- Natural Numbers: 7 Concepts
- Integers: 7 Concepts
- Fractions: 8 Concepts
- Rational Numbers: 7 Concepts
- Decimal Fractions: 9 Concepts
- Algebraic Expression: 6 Concepts
- Algebraic Equation: 4 Concepts
- Miscellaneous: 2 Concepts
Students can prepare by engaging in regular practice, maintaining conceptual clarity, and improving accuracy.
The Competition is offered in English, ensuring a standardised evaluation across the national platform.
Maths Genius evaluates students through timed, multi-round tests to assess:
- The accuracy with which students solve problems,
- The speed at which they attempt and complete the tests, and
- Mastery of fundamental mathematical concepts.
Rankings are generated using these parameters, ensuring a fair, transparent, and national-level comparison of student performance.
Students can take part in the competition online through the official I am Samarth website or mobile application, from their preferred location, in accordance with the technical guidelines and instructions issued for the competition.
Students who are citizens of Bharat and are currently studying in Grades 6th to 10th are eligible to participate in Maths Genius 2026.
Yes. Students who participated in previous editions of Maths Genius are eligible to participate in Maths Genius 2026.
Yes. Participants from previous Maths Genius competitions are required to pay the registration fee of ₹99 to participate in Maths Genius 2026.
There will be no registration fee for students holding an active I am Samarth annual membership valid through 5 September 2026.
No. If students have not registered for Maths Genius 2026 before the registration closure, they will not be allowed to participate in the competition.
- Institute Student registration closes on 15 June 2026 at 11:59 PM.
- Individual Student registration and participation are permitted until 11 September 2026 at 11:59 PM.
The eligibility by competition is as follows:
- League: Minimum Numerical Skill (MNS)
Open to Grades 6th to 10th - League: Minimum Learning Ability (MLA-1 and MLA-2)
Open to Grades 9th and 10th.
Participants must meet the grade-specific eligibility and complete all required rounds sequentially.
- Participation is open to all recognised schools and educational institutions across Bharat.
- A school that has Grades up to 8th are eligible for the Vallabhi Award
- A school that has Grades up to 9th or 10th or above are eligible for the Kapitthaka Award
The Institute can be registered by the Institute Admin of the Institute by providing the institute information and their contact details.
The Institute Admin or the School Admin can register the School for the Maths Genius 2026.
The following registrations are mandatory from the school:
- Principal of the school
- All Maths Teachers of the participating grades (Grades 6th to 10th)
- Students studying in Grades 6th to 10th, based on the school’s available grades
There is no limit on the number of students a school may register for the competition. However, a school will be eligible for the Kāpitthaka Award or Vallabhi Award only if at least 90% of students in each division are registered for the competition.
If a registered teacher, principal, or academic head leaves the school or institution before the Competition period, the Institute Admin or School Admin must update the user information on the platform.
If a registered teacher, principal, or academic head leaves the school or institution during the Competition period, they shall not be eligible for institutional awards or recognition related to Math Genius 2026.
If the academic session changes after registration, the school or institute must ensure that all student grade information is updated accurately.
Students can register for the Math Genius 2026 Competition only through:
- Official website app.iamsamarth.com
- Official Mobile application
- An individual student can register by visiting the official website app.iamsamarth.com or download the mobile app and click on Individual sign up.
- Enter the full name as per Aadhar Card, mobile number, email ID, and date of birth, then create a username and password.
- An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Verify the OTP to proceed.
- Make the payment of ₹99 to participate in the Competition.
- Fill in the required education details.
- Enter the parents’ details to complete the registration process.
Students may register either individually or through their school. It is important to note that a student cannot register using both methods. If a student registers individually, they are ineligible to register through a school or institution afterwards and are not eligible for institutional awards.
After successful sign-up on I am Samarth, the user will receive their login credentials on their registered email and mobile (SMS). Please save your username and password, as these will be required to log in to the platform during the competition.
Yes. Once the payment for the competition is completed, a confirmation message and/or email will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. This confirms that the payment has been received and that the student is eligible to participate in the competition when it begins.
You can reset your password using the “Forgot Password” option on the login page. Enter your username, set and confirm a new password, and complete the OTP verification sent to your registered email ID or mobile number. Once verified, your password will be updated, and you can log in to I am Samarth using the new password.

No. Each mobile number may be used for only one registration.
- The Institute Admin registers by visiting the official portal app.iamsamarth.com and selecting Institution Sign Up.
- Enter the required details as per the instructions provided in the Institute Registration form.
- An OTP is sent to the registered mobile number. Verify the OTP to proceed.
- Log in using the generated credentials and add the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Institute.
- After that, the Institute Admin can add schools using the Manage School option.
- After Institute registration, the Institute Admin adds the school to the dashboard.
- The Institute Admin then adds the Principal, Vice Principal, and School Admin.
- Login credentials are sent to the registered email ID and/or mobile number of the School Admin.
- The School Admin can add teachers and students along with their required information.
The School Admin logs in using the credentials provided by the Institute and can add the Principal, Vice-Principal, teachers, and students through the school dashboard.
The dashboard follows a role-based structure:
Institute → adds Institute Admin.
Institute Admin → adds Chairman / GS / School Admin / Students
School Admin → adds Principal / Vice-Principal / Teachers
Each role can add and manage only the users below it, ensuring secure and organised registration management.
If a student switches schools or leaves the Competition, they will still take part as an individual participant. They will not be counted in the school’s rankings or eligible for school awards.
The school must unlink the student’s name from the portal within seven (7) days and update their records as required.
If the new students join the school before the Competition begins, the School Admin or Institute Admin must add and register those students on the dashboard, ensure their details are accurate, and complete the registration process.
Yes. Authorised school representatives may add, remove, or edit student details on the platform, in accordance with the timelines and procedures prescribed by the Organiser.

No. Each mobile number may be used for only one registration.
Math Genius 2026 is conducted entirely online and consists of two leagues:
- League: Minimum Numerical Skill for Grades 6th to 10th
- League: Minimum Learning Ability for Grades 9th and 10th. This further consists of two challenges
- 1st challenge: Minimum Learning Ability – 1
- 2nd challenge: Minimum Learning Ability – 2
Students in Grades 6th to 8th will compete in the League: Minimum Numerical Skill, while students in Grades 9th and 10th will compete in both leagues. The League: Minimum Learning Ability will be unlocked only after successful completion of the League: Minimum Numerical Skill.
- This league consists of three rounds:
- Entry Round: 40 questions to be solved in 10 minutes
On the score of the entry round student will be promoted to the respective level. - Qualifier Round: Structured practice tests across categories and levels.
Students can be promoted to the next category/level only with an accuracy greater than 90%.
Final Round: Contains 40 Questions(each with 3 subquestions).
The MNS League is considered complete only after successful completion of the Final Round with more than 90% accuracy.
This League consists of two challenges:
- 1st challenge: Minimum Learning Ability – 1
- 2nd challenge: Minimum Learning Ability – 2
Each challenge includes three rounds:
- Entry Round: Checks the student’s understanding through timed questions and assigns the appropriate preparation level for the Qualifier Round.
- Qualifier Round: Structured practice worksheets are assigned based on Entry Test results. Students must achieve at least 90% accuracy to progress to the next worksheet.
Final Round: Consists of three consecutive timed tests with 90 mixed-ability questions to evaluate clarity, accuracy, speed, and problem-solving ability.
Progression between rounds, levels, and leagues depends on meeting the prescribed accuracy and consecutive performance criteria specified in the Competition instructions.
Completion of the Competition requires successful completion of all applicable Final Rounds.
- Progression in Math Genius 2026 is based on accuracy and consecutive performance at each stage:
- Students must achieve the minimum required accuracy (generally 90%) in a round or level to move forward.
- Progression from Entry Round → Qualifier Round → Final Round is mandatory within each league.
- In the MNS League, students progress through levels and must meet the accuracy criteria in consecutive attempts to advance.
- Students in Grades 9 and 10 can progress from MNS to MLA-1, and from MLA-1 to MLA-2, only after meeting the prescribed performance criteria at each stage.
All progression rules are displayed on the platform and must be followed sequentially.
- The Competition is considered complete only when a student has:
- Successfully completed all applicable Final Rounds of the leagues relevant to their grade, and
- Met the required accuracy and performance criteria prescribed by the Organiser.
Only students who complete the Competition are eligible for rankings, awards, and certificates.
No. All rounds, levels, and stages must be completed sequentially. Skipping any stage is not permitted.
Time limits vary by round and are communicated on the Competition platform.
For example, the MNS Entry Round consists of 40 questions to be completed in 10 minutes
No. The format varies across Entry, Qualifier, and Final Rounds to assess different abilities such as accuracy, speed, consistency, and learning ability.
Students are eligible for awards only after successful completion of the applicable Competition, as defined for their grade.
- For Grades 6th to 8th: Rankings are based on performance in the Final Round of the League: Minimum Numerical Skill League, considering the highest accuracy, least time taken, and fewest attempts.
- For Grades 9th and 10th: Rankings are based on average performance across all Final Rounds (League: Minimum Numerical Skill and all challenges of League: Minimum Learning Ability), considering the highest accuracy, least total time, and fewest attempts.
No. I am Samarth will make sure to declare the results based on the defined criteria, without any bias, the rankings will be final as declared by the organisers.
Scores and performance details will be made available through the official platform after evaluation and the declaration of results.
No. Each participant is eligible to receive only one award, being the highest-level award for which they qualify under the Competition rules.
Yes. All participants of the Competition will receive a digital participation certificate.
No. Awards are merit-based and subject to eligibility criteria, performance, and fulfilment of Competition rules.
Yes. Awards may be subject to tax deductions in accordance with applicable laws.
Eligible students may receive national, state, district, or consolation awards, as given below.
National Level: Boudhãyana Award for National 1st Rank, and Grade-wise award for top three (3) rankers
State Level: Grade-wise awards for the top three (3) rankers in each state and UT of Bharat.
District Level: Grade-wise awards for the top five (5) rankers in each district.
Consolation Awards: Fixed awards for eligible Participants completing the Competition within fifteen (15) attempts
Digital Certificates: Issued to all Participants
Eligible students may receive national, state, district, or consolation awards, as given below.
National Level: Mahāvīra Award for National 1st Rank, and Grade-wise award for the top three (3) rankers
State Level: Grade-wise awards for the top three (3) rankers in each state and UT of Bharat.
District Level: Grade-wise awards for the top five (5) rankers in each district.
Consolation Awards: Fixed awards for eligible Participants completing all Final Rounds
Digital Certificates: Issued to all Participants
- An individual student is eligible for a state-level award only if:
- At least 50% of districts in the state participate, and
- Each participating district has a minimum of 10,000 registered students (Grades 6th–10th).
- For Union Territories, a minimum of 10,000 registered students is required.
- The student must also complete the applicable Competition and meet performance criteria.
Each district must have at least ten thousand (10,000) registered students from Grades 6th to 10th.
School rankings are calculated only when all registered students complete the Competition, based on:
- Highest average accuracy
- Minimum average time
- Early completion of the Competition
No. All school and institute rankings are final and binding.
No. Each participating school or institution is eligible to receive only one award, being the highest-level award for which it qualifies under the Competition rules.
Vallabhi Award: Schools with Grades up to 8th
Kāpitthaka Award: Schools with Grades up to 9 or 10 and above.

Yes. Awards may be subject to tax deductions in accordance with applicable laws.
Math subject teachers are recognised through institutional awards, subject to compliance with Competition requirements.
Yes. Schools will receive student performance and analytical reports through the official platform after the competition.
Yes. A student may submit the test and exit at any time before the scheduled end. Once the test is submitted, it cannot be resumed or reattempted.
Yes. Students may take the test using a compatible mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. However, they must use only one registered account, even if the device is changed.
The Competition may use automated monitoring and system checks to ensure fair play and rule compliance.
If a student faces a technical issue, they should immediately report it through the official support channels (email, helpline, or WhatsApp), as instructed by the Organiser.
The Organiser shall not be responsible for interruptions caused by internet connectivity problems, power failures, device malfunctions, or other technical disruptions.
The following are strictly prohibited during the test:
- Switching between browser tabs or applications
- Accessing unauthorised websites
- Using multiple devices or accounts
- Any form of external assistance, like:
- Use of calculators, websites, browser extensions, mobile applications, or any similar tools for calculations.
- Seeking or receiving assistance from parents, friends, guardians, or any other individuals during the Competition.
No. The use of calculators, AI tools, unauthorised software, or any external assistance is strictly prohibited.
Any violation of the Competition rules may result in immediate disqualification, along with loss of eligibility for rankings, certificates, or awards.
